Oil pulling can be extremely beneficial for your oral health, helping to clear away toxins and remineralize tooth enamel. Many of you may already be familiar with oil pulling, but for those who are new to it, oil pulling is a traditional Ayurvedic oral health practice and can be utilized as an alternative to commercial mouthwashes (which usually contain synthetic and toxic ingredients). The most common method of oil pulling is called Kavala Graha, where you take a small amount of oil into your mouth and swish it around for a 5-15 minutes (longer than you would with conventional mouthwash). Once complete, spit out the used oil and never swallow as it will contain bacteria, dead skin cells from your gums, and toxins removed from your mouth.
